SOPHROLOGY

Exercice de respiration

Sophrology is a verbal psychocorporal method. It consists of a set of relaxation techniques, breathing, body movements, muscle relaxation and "visualization" of thoughts, inspired by research (in neuropsychiatry, phenomenology, but also in hypnosis, in Yoga or Zen techniques) of the Spanish psychiatrist Alfonso Caycedo, since 1960. This discipline aims to improve the quality of life of individuals, by regaining a state of serenity and well-being.

Sophrology helps to better manage the stress of daily life, to fight against addictions (tobacco, alcohol, drugs), to eliminate sleep disorders, phobias, anxieties, to apprehend and face life events (dismissal, divorce, death...), to regain emotional balance.

Sophrology helps to age well and live better with the effects that can accompany aging, such as pain, sleep or memory problems, depression... In cases of chronic pain, it provides relaxation and physical or mental wellness.

The sophrologist/patient relationship is an alliance, a tacit pact where the sophrologist is the companion, providing the necessary techniques and protocol that will gradually allow the patient to feel fully and positively exist, to acquire its own maturity of consciousness, to progress.

The first session is usually a one-on-one interview between the sophrologist and his client. On this occasion, the practitioner conducts an in-depth interrogation to clearly identify the expectations of the person who comes to consult him. We are talking about anamnesis.

The anamnesis consists of three criteria: questions, a discussion, an observation (of the gesture, postures, non-verbal communication gestures, the morphology of the person); then a general explanation of the sophrological approach.

The basic sophronisation is the starting point of all sophrological work. It consists in finding the sophronal level. For this, it is suggested to reach a level of neuromuscular relaxation as deep as possible and a level of consciousness as low as possible at the moment of the session. During a sophronization session, the practitioner induces a state of hypovigilance in the patient. This is a technique quite close to hypnosis.

You will enter a state of deep relaxation but be fully alert. You will learn to connect with your inner resources. Sophrology also teaches to live the present moment fully, to make peace with the past and to prepare for the future in a positive way.

During the learning of this technique, we will also practice cardiac coherence which is a deep respiratory cycle acting effectively and directly on the limbic brain (seat of emotions), in order to refocus and calm emotions.

Sophrology also brings many benefits to companies and their employees.
No matter the size of the company or its sector of activity, sophrology allows:

Improving quality of life at work
Enhancing employee well-being and motivation
Reduce stress and burn-out risk
Improve collaboration within the company
Promote employee productivity
Prevent absences due to work-related illnesses.
