Emotional Freedom Technique

EFT is a method of emotionally deprogramming traumatic memories and reprogramming the brain.
This technique, psycho-corporal and energetic, is also used for school, professional or sports performances.
"Psycho": mobilization of thoughts and emotions that prevent to live fully and serenely his life.
"Body": repeated tapping of specific points of the head, bust and hands (tapping).
"Energetic": these points correspond to the points of entry and exit of meridians, energy channels of the body.
During the EFT session, we refocus on the problem while sending a calming message to the brain through tapping.

The EFT is based on the principle that our so-called «negative» emotions (sadness, fear, anger, anxiety, guilt...) come from unresolved emotional shocks, causing energy knots. This technique works directly on the blocked energy circulation of the body.
The energy recovery is done by a light tapping with the fingertips on certain meridian points at the level of the face, upper body and hands, while focusing attention on the disturbing emotion. It changes rapidly during the session. The activation of these points allows the body to dissolve energy blockages and digest negative emotions.
The memory ceases to cause pain.
The advantage of this technique is that it is very accessible, gentle and can be easily learned to apply it to yourself during emotional peaks, self-confidence problems, etc.

EFT is a particularly effective emotional release technique to reduce stress and anxiety, and regain self-confidence and serenity. It is both a wonderful tool for emotional liberation and personal development, a method that is both simple and gentle and can accompany many issues such as:
- stress, anxiety, anger, fear, anxiety, phobias, grief, unease, lack of self-confidence
- unsolved painful memories
- identify and free ourselves from limiting behaviors that weigh on us
- relax body and mind, improve self-confidence, regain a more positive mindset

Concretely the EFT is practiced by a verbal exchange, we observe the body sensations, emotions, felt, while repeating sentences related to the problem and evolving towards positive affirmations, while combining light stimulations by acupressure (light fingering) on the EFT points located along the meridian path as listed by Chinese medicine.
The practitioner and the person accompanied, carry out on themselves this light tapping, at the same time in mirror.
This tapping combined with the enunciation of sentences will allow the release of emotional, energetic and physical blockages, as well as the awareness of changes to operate to lead us towards more fulfillment.
We keep the memory of the event that disturbed us but the emotional load associated with it is attenuated or completely disappeared, our mind is more calm, our body more relaxed and we are more lucid in this situation.

Studies have shown that following an EFT session, the level of cortisol (stress hormone) decreases drastically, DHEA (wellness hormone) increases and GABA which has the effect of reducing anxiety and inhibiting fear. The production of endorphins is also stimulated, which causes a decrease in pain and heart rate.
Very often only a few sessions are enough to significantly alleviate the difficulties and regain an overall well-being (physical, emotional, mental). It is a simple, effective technique that provides rapid and lasting relief.
The so-called short-term therapies, of which EFT is a part, developed in the United States about fifty years ago. They focus on “how to solve a problem?” rather than “why do I have this problem?” These therapies often allow the person to find a true better-being, and to resolve traumas in depth, without necessarily having to make a detour of several years through childhood.
Designed in 1991 by Gary Craig, the EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a simple, effective and fast method to treat emotional disturbances. This practice is part of the field of energy psychology. It can be similar to acupuncture, but without a needle.
In the 95’s, Gary Craig was able to observe the effectiveness of his method for accompanying PTSD ( (Post-Traumatic Stress Syndromes) near veterans of the Vietnam War.
EFT is an innovative therapeutic approach that, while attracting the attention of the medical scientific community, can achieve results where other therapies have failed.

Neuroscience is very interested in the "miraculous" results obtained in EFT for the treatment of pathologies such as trauma, chronic pain, depression, phobias or any other difficulty and malaise. Objectifiable results were observed using medical imaging. This makes EFT a privileged field of scientific research and an advanced and innovative therapeutic technique.
Easy to learn, it aims to lead the patient towards autonomy.
EFT is a powerful therapeutic tool with immediate and permanent effects. It is based on a basic principle: All negative emotions are caused by a disturbance of the body’s energy system.
In other words, the human body is animated by a network of meridians through which vital energy circulates. When one of these meridians is damaged, the energy circulates badly, and it causes emotions such as fear, guilt, sadness, anger, shame or any other negative emotion.

EFT is halfway between energy and neurological therapies, since it acts both at the meridian level and at the psychic level. Thus, EFT simultaneously activates the energy system and the areas of the brain where emotions are located. This is done very simply, by tapping the meridian points concerned and putting words on the emotions felt.
The results are staggering. 10 years ago there was no EFT practitioner in France. Today, caregivers, doctors, therapists and relationship specialists are trained and waiting lists are long...

How an EFT session is conducted
A session lasts about an hour and takes place in two stages: first you explain to me how I can be useful, what are your expectations, your blockages or your difficulties.
Then we proceed to tap on the meridian points while verbalizing, that is using the right words to precisely qualify your problem. You stimulate yourself, following the movements I show you. In 5 to 10 minutes, you will have completely memorized your sequence and you will be able to do it yourself.
Whatever the nature of the problem, a first session is enough to cause a very clear improvement, and sometimes, to make it disappear completely.
As a rule, people who have used the EFT in session continue to practice once they return home. This allows them to reinforce the effects of the session, but also to deal with any other negative emotion that disturbs them.
EFT is the acronym for Emotional Freedom techniques which can be translated into French as Technique de libération émotionnelle. It can be presented in many ways, but one of the simplest is to define it as a stress and anxiety management technique. The EFT will allow you to relax by playing directly and quickly on your autonomic nervous system, whose function is to maintain the balance of a large number of physiological parameters not subject to will: digestion, vascularization, cardiac activity, etc.
One could also say that EFT is a “psycho-corporal” technique for dealing with emotional blockages related to past, present or future events. “Psycho” because it’s thinking about our problem, and “bodily” because we stimulate certain points on our body with the tips of our fingers. These specific points are at the end of the energy meridians, those described by traditional Chinese medicine more than 5000 years ago.
In recent years, several researchers have highlighted the existence of these meridians that are hidden in the primovascular system (PVS). It should also be noted that half of humanity continues today to use practices related to the regulation of body energy to treat (effectively!) certain diseases.
The stimulation of these meridian points sends information to the autonomic nervous system and says: "Calm down!". It’s a bit like pressing simultaneously on the accelerator of the nervous system, thinking about the problem, and on the brake, stimulating the meridian points. In this way, by associating a calm response to a signal that until then triggered a stress response, we deactivate the automatic alert response that was recorded in our brain until then. And so we “deprogram” the inappropriate functioning that was ours until then. Hence the notion of emotional release.

An amazing efficiency!
You ran away to see a mouse? After a few EFT sessions, you find yourself wanting to breed one. You were unable to utter a word in public? You now enjoy Saturday night in the karaoke with a crowded room in front of you. You were rotting in your service for years without daring to ask? You discover a soul of fighter and go to conquer new territories! And you do it all by yourself, quietly and at your own pace. Because the great strength of EFT is to empower you in your progress. You are no longer attached to a coach or therapist, because you gradually regain control of your emotions and therefore of your life.
You can use EFT on a wide variety of emotional and physical problems.
Problems with lack of self-confidence: difficulty speaking in public, lack of self-esteem, excessive jealousy, relationship issues
Management of stress and anxiety and their consequences: ruminations, anxiety disorders, burn out, depressions
Unexplained fears and phobias of all kinds
Post-traumatic stress disorder following violence or assault • Rape and abuse
Compulsions and addictions: drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc.
Eating disorders, blockages to thinning
Obsessive-compulsive disorder
Somatic and chronic pain, for example algodystrophy and fibromyalgia
Sexual problems
Insomnia
Accompanying children: learning difficulties, dyslexia, enuresis, school fears and phobias, night terrors.
